Summer 2023 Parent and Open Call BAX Space Grant

We are will be accepting applications in dance, theater, and performing arts beginning Friday, February 3, 2023. The deadline for all applications is March 1, 2023.

EMERGE 2023

EmergeNYC is an incubator and affinity network for socially engaged artists to develop their creative voice, explore the intersections of art and activism, and connect to a thriving community of BIPOC, migrant, and LGBTQIA+ practitioners who challenge dominant narratives through cultural resistance. Applications are due February 1, 2023.

Spring 2023 Drag Performance

This class focuses on developing drag characters that expand what it means to be a drag queen, king, thing, in between or beyond what we’ve seen. Applications are due February 17, 2023.

BAX X CDI Arts and Social Justice Residency

The CUNY Dance Initiative partners with Brooklyn College and Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX) to support a two-year arts & social justice oriented creative development residency with opportunities for teaching & public showings. We will select a new resident artist for 2023-24 and 2024-25 from the current call for applications. Applications close on March 8.

    Please Note

    Applications and calls for BAX residencies, grants, and programs open at various times throughout the year. BAX uses the platform Submittable to receive and review applications.

    For all our programs we commit to a majority non-white cohort. For reviewing applications we assemble panels composed with and through difference, with majority non-white respondents and meaningful presence of trans, queer, and disabled reviewers.
